UK-based company Pyroguard, a leading manufacturer of fire-rated glass, has announced the launch of its new product line — Balustrades Evo. The innovation combines a high A2 fire-safety classification with a significantly reduced thickness and overall weight, marking a major step forward in sustainable architectural design.

The key breakthrough lies in the new interlayer technology, which reduces thickness from 3 mm to just 1.5 mm while maintaining the same structural integrity and fire performance. This allows architects and builders to achieve the required fire resistance without increasing glass thickness — resulting in lighter, more elegant installations and a smaller carbon footprint.

According to Pyroguard, Balustrades Evo addresses growing market demand for aesthetic yet safe glass balustrades used in commercial buildings, offices, residential complexes, and public facilities.

The company describes the development as a “revolutionary step” in the field of architectural safety glazing, enabling compliance with stringent European fire standards while preserving transparency, visual lightness, and design flexibility.

In addition to enhanced safety, the new line supports sustainable construction goals, aligning with the industry’s transition toward low-carbon, high-performance materials.
