KYOCERA Fineceramics Medical GmbH officially inaugurated its new production facility and office complex in Waiblingen, Germany, on October 1, 2025. The plant specializes in BIOCERAM AZUL®, a next-generation bioceramic material designed for orthopedic implants such as hip joint prostheses.
The new facility marks a major milestone for Kyocera’s European operations, expanding its footprint in the medical and fine ceramics sector. Construction began in October 2024, with installation of advanced manufacturing equipment completed by August 2025.
According to company representatives, the Waiblingen site combines precision ceramic production, R&D, and quality assurance laboratories under one roof. The factory is fully compliant with EU medical device standards and aims to serve both European and global markets with high-strength, biocompatible ceramic components.
With this investment, Kyocera strengthens its position as a leading supplier of technical and medical ceramics, contributing to Europe’s growing ecosystem of high-tech manufacturing and sustainable materials.
