October 2025 — Paris / Madrid — Imerys, a global leader in specialty minerals, has signed a 10-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with ENGIE, one of Europe’s leading energy providers.
Under the agreement, ENGIE will supply approximately 200 GWh of solar electricity per year from solar farms located in Spain to power Imerys’ operations across continental Europe. The contract will cover about 24 percent of Imerys’ annual electricity consumption in the region and will help the company cut carbon emissions by roughly 70,000 tons of CO₂ each year.
The partnership is a major milestone in Imerys’ decarbonization roadmap, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy and sustainable industrial operations. ENGIE acts not only as an energy supplier but also as a strategic partner — supporting Imerys with project structuring, energy management, and the integration of solar assets into its industrial ecosystem.
“This agreement is a key step in our journey toward reducing our carbon footprint and transitioning to clean energy. We’re proud to partner with ENGIE, a company that shares our vision for sustainability,” said an Imerys representative.
The deal highlights the growing importance of long-term corporate PPA contracts as a strategic instrument for industrial companies seeking both energy security and carbon neutrality.
