Argentine mining firm Integra Capital has announced the discovery of large natural graphite deposits at the Teo site in La Rioja Province, marking one of the most promising mineral finds in recent years
According to preliminary geological data, the graphite-bearing zone extends for nearly 10 kilometers, with collected samples already sent for laboratory analysis. If the results confirm high purity and substantial reserves, Integra plans to launch a major drilling and feasibility program in 2026, backed by investments estimated between $5 million and $10 million.
Graphite’s growing demand — driven by its role in lithium-ion batteries, electrical components, and refractory materials — positions this discovery as strategically significant. Analysts suggest that La Rioja could emerge as a new center for raw materials used in high-temperature and high-tech industries, further diversifying Argentina’s mining base beyond lithium and copper.
